Crowd barriers at a Formula 1 racetrack<\/strong><\/b>

A Formula 1 racetrack is an enormous place.\u00a0 It has to be, its main feature is a 3-4 km track for the race itself, and there has to be a garage for each racing team, parking for all their lorries and, of course, the grandstands and other spaces for the spectators who come to see the race, including the carparks. In the first weekend of June 2023, the Formula 1 circus visited <\/strong>Montmel\u00f3<\/strong><\/a> in Catalonia for the Spanish Grand Prix.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Like in most sports, Formula 1 fans don\u2019t only go to watch the event: many of them also want to see the stars \u2013 in this case, of course, the drivers \u2013 and get an autograph or even a photo with some of them.\u00a0 With all those huge spaces, there\u2019s a lot of room for people to gather, so the organisers at Montmel\u00f3 needed a way to keep the fans from getting too near the drivers, while at the same time letting them feel close to them.\u00a0 They decided that the best way to do that was to use GUIL\u2019s ATV crowd control barriers.<\/p>\n

GUIL manufacture the ATV-07 crowd control barrier, the ATV-08 gate, and the ATV-09 barrier with cable access.\u00a0 A long line of ATV-07 barriers, with several gates and cable access barriers, was put up between the public areas of Montmel\u00f3 and the paddock where the drivers and their teams were.\u00a0 As the ATV-07 barriers have a step at the back, the drivers were able to stand on the step to talk to the fans, sign autographs and even take selfies with the lucky ones in the front row.\u00a0 Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon were among the drivers who brightened up the fans\u2019 day, while @FernandoAlonso took a video selfie of the hundreds of people at the other side of the barriers.\u00a0 For all the fans who were able to interact with the drivers across the ATV-07 barriers, it was a day to remember for a long time.<\/p>\n
