On Saturday 12^th February, the yearly “Goya” Spanish cinema awards ceremony will be held in Valencia.  One of the favourites to take a number of prizes this year is “El Buen Patrón” (The Good Boss), which stars the Oscar-winner Javier Bardem, one of Spain’s most widely-known actors, in the title role.  El Buen Patrón, directed by Fernando León de Aranoa, will represent Spain at the Oscars in the foreign film section in 2022.

The première of this film took place on 10th January 2022 in Madrid, and GUIL’s crowd control barriers were supplied for the event by our customer Workout Events.  Workout provides workers in many categories, such as set-up, security, catering, auxiliary services, covering just about any kind of event: sport, corporate events, concerts, shows,… size and location are no object.

GUIL’s crowd-control barriers are made of aluminium, and offer several advantages over the majority of such barriers. 

Their aluminium structure means that they are light but strong, and are therefore easier to handle and install than barriers made from other metals. They are also easy to move thanks to the wheels that are incorporated in their base, and can be taken from a van or a lorry to their position and installed, all by one person.

The hinges have a 20 cm-long pin, which means that the hinge will stay connected even on uneven surfaces. The hinges also allow the barriers to be positioned in curves or forming 90º corners, so irreguarly-shaped areas ca be controlled.

El Buen Patrón has been nominated in 20 categories for the Goya awards, a new record for the event.  This year’s show, the 36^th Goya ceremony, will be held in Valencia on Saturday 12^th February, and the Queen Sofia Arts Theatre.  Usually held in Madrid, the event will take place in Valencia this year as a tribute to the well-known Valencian director and scriptwriter Luis García Berlanga.  Among the 20 nominations is the Best Actor category, where Javier Bardem will hope to win his fifth (yes, fifth!) award.
